Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West, has claimed that Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, will not permit Governor Nyesom Wike to bring the party to its knees.
Melaye said that the disagreement between Atiku and Wike was only a small problem.
When he spoke on Channels Television on Friday, Melaye claimed that the tension between Atiku and Wike was getting worse when he claimed that.
“Democracy is noisy and there may be disagreement at times, but that disagreement does not mean that we will suddenly tear down the roof,” he remarked. Governor Wike won’t tear off the PDP’s roof; he won’t do that.
“Atiku Abubakar will not permit anyone—not even Wike—to tear the PDP’s roof off. I’m here to tell you that PDP is one huge, trustworthy family. These annoyances are relatively small.
“Governor Wike is right to have his reservations. He has a right to complain about the one or two things he is. I won’t get into the specifics of his complaints, but he is upset about a couple of things.
“As I also mentioned, Governor Wike and Atiku Abubakar have been in contact. And the conversation hasn’t ended there; it’s still going on. The problem is being overly escalated by others. It’s typical.
Since the PDP’s presidential primaries, Wike and Atiku have been at odds.
The Governor is upset that Atiku chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running partner instead of considering him.
