Festus Keyamo, the minister of state for labor and employment, has claimed that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), is a carpetbagger outside of the South-East.
Keyamo made the comment while highlighting the possibility that Obi may serve as a Trojan horse for Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee.
The spokesman for the APC presidential campaign committee cautioned that Obi might take his supporters in the wrong direction in an interview with Arise News.
“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso brought color to the campaign, and I admit they have raised some awareness among the electorates, but outside the South-East, Peter Obi is a carpetbagger, and we suspect he may be a trojan horse for Atiku, and we want to warn his supporters that he may be leading them to nowhere,” claims Keyamo.
Keyamo said that demographic data for the APC showed Bola Tinubu to be far ahead of Atiku and Obi as the party’s presidential candidate.
“There won’t be a run-off in this election; our demographic research shows that Tinubu is way ahead of the competition.
“Kwankwaso and Peter Obi will succeed, and I applaud them for their efforts. But based on our demographic research, Tinubu and distant second-place Atiku are the only candidates in the race.
